Hamble Winter Series Day 7 - Rather Chilly!
Published 11:07 on 23 Nov 2015
Despite the bitter northerly wind Sigma 38 crews were delighted to get back out on the water after the previous race had been blown off. Initially it was hard to believe there was going to be enough wind but after a short postponement the race committee got everyone off. With incredibly light winds and a strong tide the trick on the first leg was to keep the boats moving and minimise movements. By the first mark Light had managed to pull out a big lead on the rest of the fleet. However Persephone, although they rounded behind Marta and Kindred Spirit, can never be discounted and inch by inch they clawed their way through the fleet to win the shortened race. Light finished second and Kindred Spirit third. Next week is the final race
