JOG Week - First Race
5 Sigma 38s set off from Cowes to Dartmouth on Saturday for a race that took approximately 24 hours. Once again With Alacrity showed her class and was first Sigma 38 and 2nd in IRC Class 5. Second Sigma 38, and 3rd in Class 5 was Rapscallion, making a welcome return to to race course and showing she hadn't forgotten her skills. Rapscallion was racing two up and finished 3rd in the Double handed series.

And the Winner of the IRC Double Handed National Champs is.......With Alacrity!
Chris and Vanessa Choules have continued their winning streak finishing first in the Spinlock IRC Double Handed National Championships hosted by the Royal Southampton YC over the weekend. The mixed fleet competed in 3 races, a short windward leeward and a longer round the cans on Saturday and a longer race on Sunday. With Alacrity on Fire!
Not content with winning the exceptionally challenging 2014 RTIR With Alacrity cruised straight out to win every one of the 3 races in the David Thomas Regatta. Persephone was equally consistent finishing 2nd in every race. Great to see Yoda competing strongly with the form boats. RTIR - 5 Sigma 38s finish in the top 100 overall.
In a telling demonstration of crew tenacity and determination 21 Sigma 38 finished with only 2 retirements, in a year that saw more retirements than finishers overall. With Alacrity was first Sigma 38 home completing the race in 10 hours, 37 minutes, finishing 4th in IRC 2D, and 44th overall, one of the highest placed positions ever for a Sigma 38. 23 Sigma 38s Competing in RTI!
23 Sigma 38s, 19 in IRC 2D and 4 in ISCRS 4D will be on the start line for the annual Round the Island Race! Enigma Wins 2014 IRC Scottish Championship.
Sigma 38s are certainly alive and more than kicking north of the border too! Margaret and Howard Morrison's Enigma is the winner of the IRC Scottish Championships in Class 2. Sigma 38 National Championships - Record Entries!
The 2014 Sigma 38 National Championships will see the largest entry this century. The Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club will host the class over the second May Bank Holiday.
