    With Alacrity Wins Cowes Week.

    With five consecutive first places With Alacrity have won the Sigma 38 Class in Cowes Week 2014 and have finished sixth overall in the Black Group!     Champagne and Sailing!

    Six Sigma 38s competed in the Royal Solent Taittinger Regatta, making up a third of IRC3. Although the winds were very light, particularly on Saturday, racing in the Western Solent in spring tides was tactically exceptionally challenging and demanded intense concentration.     Rapscallion Wins JOG Week Double Handed!

    Jamie Diamond and Adam Kay, both 19 years old, have won the JOG Week Double Handed event. Not only that they finished third overall against fully crewed boats in IRC5/6.     3 Peaks Yacht Race - Full Report

    Three Peaks Yacht Race report.   All four Sigma’s finished – 2 38’s Mistral of St Helier and Rho and two 33’s.   The race started at Barmouth by all boats rowing over the line for 2 hours then a light wind fiddly leg to Caernarfon. Rho beat Mistral into Caernarfon getting the most

    JOG Week - First Race

    5 Sigma 38s set off from Cowes to Dartmouth on Saturday for a race that took approximately 24 hours. Once again With Alacrity showed her class and was first Sigma 38 and 2nd in IRC Class 5. Second Sigma 38, and 3rd in Class 5 was Rapscallion, making a welcome return to to race course and showing she hadn't forgotten her skills. Rapscallion was racing two up and finished 3rd in the Double handed series.

    And the Winner of the IRC Double Handed National Champs is.......With Alacrity!

    Chris and Vanessa Choules have continued their winning streak finishing first in the Spinlock IRC Double Handed National Championships hosted by the Royal Southampton YC over the weekend. The mixed fleet competed in 3 races, a short windward leeward and a longer round the cans on Saturday and a longer race on Sunday.     With Alacrity on Fire!

    Not content with winning the exceptionally challenging 2014 RTIR With Alacrity cruised straight out to win every one of the 3 races in the David Thomas Regatta. Persephone was equally consistent finishing 2nd in every race. Great to see Yoda competing strongly with the form boats. Turnout was slightly disappointing however a number of boats had issues following the RTI. Given the RTI pulls the largest attendance each year of Sigma 38s the extremely well

    RTIR - 5 Sigma 38s finish in the top 100 overall.

    In a telling demonstration of crew tenacity and determination 21 Sigma 38 finished with only 2 retirements, in a year that saw more retirements than finishers overall. With Alacrity was first Sigma 38 home completing the race in 10 hours, 37 minutes, finishing 4th in IRC 2D, and 44th overall, one of the highest placed positions ever for a Sigma 38.
