RORC Channel Race

Published 17:37 on 2 Aug 2015

Six Sigma 38 raced in this shifty tactical 130 nautical mile race making up the 15 boat strong Class 4 and the 87 total boats. Although the sun shone the race demanded every ounce of consentration and crew skill with 2 windward leeward sections and a windspeed that varied between 0 and 20 knots. Machismo II finished first followed by Sam and then Persephone. All three boats were in top five in Class 4. After almost 22 hours of racing Sam beat the double handed crew of Persephone by only 4 seconds! Persephone also finished third in the highly competitive double handed series, proving the French JPK10.10 are not invincible! The next time the Sigma 38 line up for an offshore race it will be for the Rolax Fastnet.
