5 Sigma 38s (Erislannan, Marta, Paracelsus, Rho and With Alacrity) spent the May Bank Holiday weekend competing in the RORC Myth of Malham. 140 boats participated in a race that mirrors the start and first 130nm of the Rolex Fastnet. RORC badge the race as having some of the "most challenging and perplexing tidal gates" and that certainly proved true this weekend.

The race ended up being a beat to Eddystone as well as a beat back with few opportunities to use the spinnaker – proper Sigma 38 weather. It was a solid and at times uncomfortable beat to the Eddystone. By Monday the wind had eased to 5-9 knots. Many of the 140 boats found themselves adrift off Portland and St Albans with big spring tides. Of the Sigma 38s only 2 finished With Alacrity and Erislannan (Erislannan stuck it out to finish at 3am this morning), with Marta, Paracelsus and Rho retiring.

With only 50 boats having finished currently a big well done to With Alacrity who won Class 4 in a competitive fleet beating Winsome and Foggy Dew and overall 9th in IRC.
