RTIR - 5 Sigma 38s finish in the top 100 overall.
Published 08:39 on 22 Jun 2014
In a telling demonstration of crew tenacity and determination 21 Sigma 38 finished with only 2 retirements, in a year that saw more retirements than finishers overall. With Alacrity was first Sigma 38 home completing the race in 10 hours, 37 minutes, finishing 4th in IRC 2D, and 44th overall, one of the highest placed positions ever for a Sigma 38. Sam, second and 61st overall, competing in her first RTI and then Jedi, the Belgium boat, third Sigma 38 and 69th overall. In ISC 4D Aquaessence finished fifth in her group and 90th overall. A truly magnificent achievement by all Sigma 38s, when given the exceedingly light conditions many would have said it was not the day for a heavy boat approaching her third decade!
