The Sigma 38 fleet revelled in the blustery conditions. And Persephone's win was the proof of this, not only winning class, but finishing in front of all the IRC 3 boats that started 6 minutes before. Congratulation to the team for an outstanding performance. With Alacrity, struggling with a broken kicker, finished second and Light, struggling with a few boat handling issues, finished third. Marta had a strong race but was just piped into forth by Pandanova. The fleet was delighted to be joined by Gallant who seem to have a knack of coming out for the big wind days. The race committee wisely decided to make life jackets mandatory and run a longer race, ensuring a less congested race course. Back in the club house the Commadore paid tribute to David Thomas who sadly passed away in the week.

All Sigma 38 crew are encouraged to attend the prize giving at Hamble River Sailing Club, not only are there cheap drinks and food but there is a great atmosphere with lots of sailing banter.
